New electric shower units are available from 7kw - 10.8kw from various well known manufacturers including Hotpoint, Mira & Triton.

The power rating of the electric shower to be installed is dependant on the size of the electricity supply to your existing electric shower.

Blu Sparx Electrical Contractors can replace the existing cable and the protective device if a larger replacement shower is required. Generally a higher wattage shower will give a greater hot water flow.

Instantaneous Showers require a cold water feed with good mains pressure but showers with integral pumps for tank fed supplies are available.

Power inputs range from 7kw - 10.8kw and heat the water as it flows over the element, however it is important to note with all electric showers the faster the flow the cooler the water. Electric Showers are essentially an instantaneous water heater so paying more money for an electric shower of a lower wattage will not be a better quality water flow.

Power Showers require a hot and cold feed from the tank and cylinder. They can be fitted with either a built-in or separate pump. As there is no heating element they require only a small electricity supply.
